GUTS Toastmasters, one of the largest and highest-achieving Toastmasters clubs in the region, is celebrating 40 years of helping individuals build confidence, communication, and leadership skills.
Founded in 1985, the Get Up To Speak (GUTS) Toastmasters Club meets every Saturday morning from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. in the heart of Annandale. The club will mark its milestone with a 40th Anniversary Celebration following its regular 8:00 a.m. meeting on Saturday, January 17, at United Baptist Church. The meeting and celebration will be held in a hybrid format, and community members are invited to attend.
GUTS Toastmasters offers a welcoming, high-energy environment for people looking to conquer fear of public speaking, enhance their careers, and connect with like-minded individuals. Meetings feature prepared speeches, constructive evaluations, and impromptu speaking opportunities. Each meeting begins with the GUTS cheer: “What does it take to get up on a Saturday morning and come to Toastmasters? GUTS!”
The club’s commitment to excellence is reflected in its accomplishments. GUTS Toastmasters has earned President’s Distinguished Club status—the highest recognition available—every year from 2004 through 2024, along with multiple membership-building awards. The club is also home to the 2019 and 2020 District 27 International Speech Champion.
GUTS Toastmasters meets in person at United Baptist Church, 7100 Columbia Pike, Annandale, and online via Zoom. Visitors are always welcome.
