Historic House at Green Spring Gardens Undergoing Repairs
The historic house at Green Spring Gardens will be closed to the public Wednesday and Thursday to allow for the completion of fix-up work

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- The historic house at Green Spring Gardens will be closed to the public Wednesday and Thursday this week, as needed, to allow for the completion of fix-up work inside, the county said. Paint and plaster work will be finished downstairs while new carpeting is installed upstairs.
With ladders and paint and tight working conditions, there will be no safe way to accommodate the public while the work is being completed, so a decision was made to temporarily close the house, Fairfax County announced Monday. There are no scheduled programs during the time period. Staff will be available while the house is closed to answer phone inquiries and take reservations.
The historic house, set amid the gardens at Green Spring, was built in 1784. It is home to changing art exhibits, traditional English teas and a unique Museum Shop. Green Spring’s gardens and Horticulture Center will remain open while work is being done at the historic house.
