Lost Dog Missing for 11 Weeks in Northern Virginia: Have You Seen Echo?
Echo's owner is hoping to see her dog again, after bringing her from Sri Lanka to the United States.
FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- Somewhere out there in Northern Virginia is a dog named Echo who was rescued in Sri Lanka, where she lived with her State Department owner for more than two years. But when she was brought to Northern Virginia's Fairlington neighborhood this summer, she disappeared one week into settling into her new home.
Weighing in at about 25 pounds, the mostly black mixed-breed dog (with white and gold markings), has been zig-zagging the region in a six-mile circle, according to sightings reported by people who have seen her, her owner, Sheela, said Monday. Echo has white paws, a white chest, a thin white vertical stripe down her forehead and a white tip on her tail.

If you do see Echo, you're asked to not chase her or at least try not to let her see that you have noticed her, Sheela said. Echo has been seen mainly between 5-8 p.m. and in the early morning hours, she said.
If you do see Echo, try to take a picture, note the location and Sheela says call her at 703 825-0620 anytime day or night.

Monday, Sheela said that she thinks Echo could be seen in the following areas: Annandale, Merrifield, Fairfax, Oakton, Mantua, Strathmede Springs, Falls Church, West Falls Church, Seven Corners, Arlington and Baileys Crossroads.
