• A piece of St. Nicholas' body resides in a Northern Virginia church (wset.com) — Right here in Annandale, the Epiphany of our Lord Byzantine Catholic Church houses a small bone fragment of St. Nicholas that’s displayed to the public each December. The church’s Feast of St. Nicholas on Dec. 6 features the relic, a special service, a shared meal, and children’s skits, with Christmas celebrations continuing through Jan. 6.
   

• In first Christmas message as pope, Leo asks faithful to remember those suffering in world (washingtontimes.com) — An Annandale school administrator and her family traveled to Rome to attend Christmas Mass with Pope Leo XIV, the first American pope, calling it an unforgettable experience.
