Man Killed Ex-Girlfriend In Annandale, Caught In Maryland: Police

Tylen Jennings blocked the victim's vehicle and shot her, authorities said.

ANNANDALE, VA — A man was arrested in Maryland after killing his ex-girlfriend in Annandale, authorities said.

Tylen Jennings, 30, of Maryland, shot Anesha Isaacs on the 3200 block of Woodburn Road and fled the scene Friday, according to the Fairfax County Police Department. He was apprehended in Prince George's County, Maryland, the agency said on Saturday.

Shortly before 4:45 p.m. Friday, Isaacs called police and said her ex-boyfriend was blocking her vehicle with his own, preventing her from leaving, authorities said. She told the dispatcher that Jennings was wanted and that she had an active protective order against him.

As officers responded, Jennings shot Isaacs from his vehicle, police said. Jenning fled in his vehicle before law enforcement reached the scene.

Arriving officers discovered Isaacs, 30, of Maryland, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds at the scene. She was transported to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Police identified Jennings's vehicle and provided a lookout to surrounding jurisdictions. A license plate reader showed him heading toward Maryland.

Officers from the Prince George's County Police Department set up to anticipate his path and safely arrested him in Maryland, authorities said.

Jennings was charged with second-degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, abduction and protective order violation. He was placed in the Prince George's County Correctional Center without bond as he awaits extradition to Fairfax County.
