• Artisans UnitedCraft Gallery Winter Show Opening Reception and Card-Making Class (ffxnow.com) — Artisans United’s Craft Gallery in Annandale’s Fred M. Packard Center is kicking off its Winter Show with a free opening reception and card-making class on January 3. Residents can browse work by 20 local artists, enjoy light refreshments, and drop in anytime during the 1–3 p.m. window to create custom cards and envelopes to take home.
   

• Santa Claus' bone fragment is in a Northern Virginia Catholic Church (wamu.org) — A tiny bone fragment of St. Nicholas — the inspiration for Santa Claus — is kept at Epiphany of Our Lord Byzantine Catholic Church right here in Annandale. The relic, certified authentic by the Vatican, is displayed each year on Dec. 6, giving parishioners and visitors a rare, local connection to the beloved saint’s history and charitable legacy.
