Metropolitan School of the Arts to Present Spring Ballet: Snow White

Alexandria Performing Arts Studio to Perform Classic Fairytale Ballet in Annandale, Va.

The Metropolitan School of the Arts (MSA) of Alexandria, Virginia, is thrilled to present its highly anticipated spring ballet, "Snow White," featuring a cast of 70 talented youth ballet students on Sat., April 26 and Sun., April 27. The performance takes place at the Richard J. Ernst Cultural Community Center at 8333 Little River Turnpike in Annandale, Virginia. Tickets, ranging from $29 to $32, are available for purchase at metropolitanarts.org.

Audiences can experience the timeless tale of love, jealousy, and magic brought to life through re-imagined choreography and music. Performances will be held on:

  • Saturday, April 26th: 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM
  • Sunday, April 27th: 12:00 PM and 5:00 PM

This production showcases the exceptional talent of MSA’s youth ballet program, including two award-winning students who recently achieved remarkable success at the prestigious Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP), the world's largest student ballet scholarship competition.

  • Nina Willcoxon, grade 10, earned a coveted Top 24 placement in the Classical category.
  • Elise Lai, grade 8, received 3rd place in the Classical category, a Top 24 placement in Contemporary, and was invited to the Tampa, Florida Finals.

The role of the Prince will be brought to life by guest artist Tony Lee, whose versatile training and extensive performance experience enrich the production. From his foundational training with Douglas Martin and Mary Barton at American Repertory Ballet to his work with companies like SLAM Hip Hop Dance Group and Olympic Ballet Theatre, Lee's diverse background promises a captivating performance.
