UPDATE: Missing Teen from Annandale High Found, Police Say

Police say missing teen was involved with known gang members and threats had reportedly been made against her.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- (UPDATE Friday)

  • Venus Romero Iraheta was found and is being reunited with her family, Fairfax County Police announced Friday afternoon.

Detectives from the Fairfax County Police Department were searching for the 17-year-old girl they believed could be in danger, police announced Thursday night. Venus Romero Iraheta, of Alexandria, was reported missing on Monday.

Her mom reported her missing to the School Resource Officer at Annandale High School, police said. The School Resource Officer made efforts that morning to contact Romero Iraheta and was able to speak to her briefly, but could not determine her whereabouts. She was entered into the missing database as a runaway.

Detectives assumed the investigation. They said they received anonymous information that Romero Iraheta was involved with known gang members and threats had reportedly been made against her, police said.
