Shopping Center Catches Fire In Annandale
Firefighters spent much of Sunday working to extinguish the blaze at Annandale shops that closed Columbia Pike for hours.

ANNANDALE, VA — Fairfax County firefighters spent much of Sunday battling a blaze at an Annandale shopping center, according to authorities.
Emergency personnel responded early Sunday to the fire in the 7200 block of Columbia Pike, Fairfax County Fire/Rescue tweeted around 7:30 a.m. The road was closed in both directions during the response.
About four hours later, the fire was under control, although a small gas-fed blaze was still burning, authorities said. As of around 3:15 p.m., crews were addressing hot spots. No injuries were reported.

The shopping center where the fire occurred includes To Sok Jip, a Korean restaurant; Hanmi Post, an international shipping facility; and a Bonchon location and barbershop, both of which are listed on Google Maps as temporarily closed. The center is located in a commercial area, near a Giant grocery store, a Walgreens and a Chik-Fil-A.
Video and photos from the scene show smoke billowing from the structure and authorities using multiple ladder trucks to extinguish the fire.
