Group of Teens Assault 2 Boys, Stab Father in Annandale: Police

The assault and stabbing took place Monday night in Annandale, police said. The father was trying to help the two boys who were assaulted.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- Fairfax County Police say that two boys were jumped Monday night in Annandale by a group of teens and the father of one of the boys was stabbed when he tried to help them.

The incident took place Monday night at about 8:35 p.m. in the 7500 block of Little River Turnpike (see map below). Police responded for a report of a large group of people fighting. A further investigation determined that two boys were walking along a pathway when they were confronted by a large group of teens, according to police.

The group began to assault one of the boys and the victim called for his father, police said. The father attempted to intervene and was stabbed with a sharp object, according to police.

The suspects fled the area, but were identified by witnesses. Both victims were treated for non-life-threatening injuries and the investigation is ongoing.
