Woman Stabbed at Bus Stop in Annandale: Police

Police say man waiting at bus stop made advances; after woman ignored him, he stole a knife, returned, and stabbed her several times.

ANNANDALE, VA -- Fairfax County Police say a woman was seriously injured in a stabbing at a bus stop Sunday afternoon in Annandale. A man who was also waiting at the bus stop made advances to the woman. When she refused him, he went into a nearby store, stole a knife, returned to the bus stop and stabbed the woman multiple times, according to police.

The suspect fled on foot, but was quickly located and arrested, police said. Peter Roesller, 31, of no fixed address, was taken to the Adult Detention Center and charged with larceny and malicious wounding.

The victim was taken to a local hospital and treated for serious injuries. The incident took place in the 4200 block of John Marr Drive Sunday around 4:35 p.m., police said.
