ARLINGTON, VA — Last week, Arlington County Police located two men in the Ballston Metro Station who were suspected of committing two separate robberies on successive days.

In the first case, officers responded to the 4200 block of Fairfax Drive around 2:50 p.m., on Friday, for the report of an armed robbery. An investigation revealed that a man entered the business, grabbed some bottles of wine and other items, and then tried to leave without paying, police say.

An employee followed the man outside the store, but the man raised a bottle of wine, threatened the employee with it and then smashed it on the ground, according to police. The man then lifted his shirt to show what appeared to be the handle of a gun and fled.
