4th Of July 2019: What's Open, Closed In Arlington

Some services will be closed Fourth of July through the rest of the week.

The nation is preparing to celebrate America's 243rd birthday this week, and with the holiday falling on a Thursday, that means many local businesses and government agencies will be shut down through the rest of the week. However, that isn't the case for everyone.

Via Arlington County: Arlington County Government offices, courts, libraries & facilities will be closed on Thur., Jul. 4, 2019, for July 4th Independence Day.

  • ART–ART 41, 42, 45, 51, 55 and 87 will operate on Sunday schedules. All other ART routes will not operate.
  • STAR The STAR Call Center will be closed and standing orders will not be provided. Please call beforehand to request a trip on the holiday or the day after.
  • Metrorail & Metrobus Schedule

  • Trash/Recycling/Yard Waste Curbside Routes – Regular schedule
  • Special Collections (Brush, Metal, E-waste) – Regular schedule
  • Mulch Delivery – None
