ABC News Producer Disappears After FBI Raid On His Arlington Home
An award-winning producer for ABC News has not been heard from since an FBI raid on his Arlington home in April, according to a news report.

ARLINGTON, VA — An Emmy award-winning producer for ABC News, who often broke investigative stories on national security issues, has reportedly not been seen or heard from publicly since an FBI raid on his Arlington home in April, according to a news report.
James Gordon Meek, who previously served as a senior counterterrorism adviser and investigator for the House Homeland Security Committee, was living on the top floor of the Siena Park apartments in the 2300 block of Columbia Pike, when the FBI raided his home on April 27, Rolling Stone reported Tuesday.
The FBI told Rolling Stone that it was conducting court-authorized law-enforcement activity in that block of Columbia Pike, but that it could not further comment due to an ongoing investigation.

Meek has not been charged with a crime, but he reportedly has not been seen or heard from since the April 27 raid. His previously active Twitter handle’s last tweet was 5 a.m. the morning of the raid, ARLnow reported Wednesday.
None of Meek’s neighbors at the apartment complex has seen him for months, and his apartment appears vacant, Rolling Stone reported. His ABC News colleagues told the magazine they have no idea what happened to him.

In his nine years at ABC News, Meek broke a story about foiled terrorist plots in New York City and the Army’s coverup of the fratricidal death of Pfc. Dave Sharrett II in Iraq. An ABC News spokesperson told Rolling Stone that Meek resigned “very abruptly and hasn’t worked for us for months.”
Rolling Stone reported the raid “quite possibly” could be the first to be carried out on a journalist by the Biden administration, according to officials with whom the magazine spoke.
On April 27, ARLnow reported about the FBI activity on Columbia Pike but did not know who the agency was targeting. “It’s unclear why, but the FBI was out in force along Columbia Pike this morning,” ARLnow reported at the time. “Photos show several unmarked federal law enforcement vehicles, including a Lenco BearCat armored SWAT vehicle, in front of the Siena Park Apartments on the 2300 block of the Pike.”
The Arlington County Police Department told ARLnow that “the police activity is part of an active FBI investigation.”
In a statement released to Rolling Stone about any potential accusations against his client, Meek’s attorney said: “Mr. Meek is unaware of what allegations anonymous sources are making about his possession of classified documents.”
Rolling Stone reported that no one has said whether FBI officials removed Meek from his apartment on the morning of April 27.
Meek’s situation “is making me nervous,” a person with whom Meek worked at ABC News told the magazine. “I’m just gonna deadbolt my door.”
