The Arlington Historical Society has established the Charlie Clark Memorial Historical Preservation Fund in memory of the late author.

ARLINGTON, VA — The Arlington Historical Society has established the Charlie Clark Memorial Historical Preservation Fund to honor the work of local historian, author and journalist Charlie Clark.
The fund will be used to help advance Clark’s passion for historical preservation, including AHS’s two historic properties: the Ball-Sellers House and the Arlington Historical Museum.
It will also focus on projects that Clark started to work on, including the George Washington survey marker and highlighting and protecting historic homes and other properties.

“The Arlington Historical Society is greatly saddened by the passing of Charlie Clark, everyone’s ‘Man in Arlington,’” the AHS said. “We have been proud to have him as a member of our Board of Directors.”
The AHS also said it plans to name its annual history essay contest for Clark. “We can envision no better way than to inspire a future generation of historians to write about local history,” the historical society said.
The public is invited to honor the memory of Clark and his love for Arlington with a donation to the Charlie Clark Memorial Preservation Fund.
