Arlington Hotel Earns Four-Diamond Rating From AAA
The Arlington hotel is among only a few in Northern Virginia that received the honor.

ARLINGTON, VA — One Arlington hotel is on AAA's annual list of hotels receiving four diamonds. The Ritz-Carlton, Pentagon City, received the honor.
Just, 1,676, or about 6 percent, of the 27,000 hotels AAA inspects get four-diamond ratings. According to AAA, four-diamond hotels "must be refined and stylish with upscale physical attributes, extensive amenities and a high degree of hospitality, service and attention to detail."
Other four-diamond hotels hailing from Northern Virginia include Hyatt Regency Reston, Arlington's Ritz-Carlton, Pentagon City and Leesburg's Lansdowne Resort & Spa.

The ratings are based on in-person inspections conducted by AAA's professionals, anonymous overnight stays and a review by a panel of experts. Fewer than 1 percent receive the top five-diamond rating. D.C. has three hotels on the five-diamond list and Virginia has three: in Richmond, Williamsburg and the town of Washington.
"Attaining a Five Diamond Rating is an exceptional accomplishment that signifies meticulous attention to detail, creativity in enhancing comfort, outstanding service and memorable guest experiences," said Michael Petrone, director of AAA Inspections & Diamond Ratings, in a statement. "And as more mid-scale and even budget properties are adding amenities for comfort and convenience, hotels that aim for a Five Diamond Rating must stay far ahead of the curve to differentiate themselves through advanced design concepts, highest quality furnishings and scrupulous attention to guests' expectations."
