Arlington Man Fires Shots After Argument Over Food Delivery: Police

An Arlington man was charged with attempted malicious wounding after getting into an argument with a food delivery driver, police said.

ARLINGTON, VA — An Arlington man was charged with attempted malicious wounding after getting into an argument with a food delivery driver in the Fairlington neighborhood and firing gunshots, according to the Arlington County Police Department.

Ahaan Kale, 19, was being held without bond in the Arlington County Detention Facility, police said Monday.

At about 12:20 p.m. last Friday, police were dispatched to the 3500 block of S. Stafford Street for a report of shots fired. The officers established a perimeter and canvassed the area for the suspect. Kale was taken into custody when the vehicle he fled in returned to the scene, police said.

The food delivery person encountered Kale outside the residential building, where they got into an argument, police said. The victim then completed his food delivery and, as he was driving away, the suspect ran toward his vehicle, brandished what the victim believed to be a firearm and discharged several rounds, police said.

No injuries or property damage were reported in the shooting, according to police.
