Arlington Man Shot Mother, Faces Murder Charge: Police
Arlington County Police arrested a man they say fatally shot his mother Sunday morning in the Ballston-Virginia Square area.

ARLINGTON, VA — A 27-year-old Arlington man is facing a first-degree murder charge in connection to fatal shooting of his mother Sunday morning in the Ballston-Virginia Square neighborhood, according to authorities.
Officers from the Arlington County Police Department responded around 8:28 a.m. for the report of a shooting in the 3400 block of Fairfax Drive, according to the incident report.
Arriving on the scene, officers found 57-year-old Travis Renee Baldwin of Winchester suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, according to reports. The officers administered lifesaving measures before Baldwin was taken to a nearby hospital, where she later died from her injuries.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of Baldwin's death, ACPD says.
Police arrested Logan Chrisinger, charging him with first-degree murder, aggravated malicious wounding and using a firearm in the commission of a felony, according to authorities. He was then held in the Arlington County Detention Facility without bond.
First-degree murder is a Class 2 Felony. If convicted on this charge, Chrisinger faces a potential penalty of 20 years to life in prison and a fine of up to $100,000, under the Code of Virginia.
