Arlington Primary Election 2019: Here Are The Results
Several key primary races for state legislative and local government seats were decided by Arlington voters on Tuesday, June 11.

ARLINGTON, VA -- The results are in. Here's what happened in the Virginia Democratic primaries for Arlington residents:
Commonwealth's Attorney: Parisa Dehghani-Tafti has defeated incumbent Theo Stamos with 13,500 votes to Stamos' 12,758 (51.4%-48.6%).
Member, Senate of Virginia (District 31): Incumbent Barbara Favola has defeated Nicole Merlene with 12,033 votes to Merlene's 7,411 (61.9%-38.1%).

Member, House of Delegates (District 49): Incumbent Alfonso Lopez has defeated JD Spain with 5,022 votes to Spain's 1,486 (77.2%-22.8%).
Virginia voters headed to the polls on Tuesday, June 11, for primary elections determining which state legislature and local candidates advance to the Nov. 5 general election.

All Virginia Senate and House of Delegates seats will be up for grabs in the general election, leaving party control hanging in the balance. Republicans control the state House with a 51-49 majority and the state Senate with a 21-19 majority.
In Arlington, voters chose who will represent the 31st district in the Senate and the 49th district in the House, as well as vote for the candidate who will vy for the Arlington County Commonwealth's Attorney.
