Arlington School Delay Alert: Ugly Wednesday Morning Likely
The forecast calls for ice in some parts of the area, so be prepared for the possibility of school delays.

ARLINGTON, VA — Be prepared for the possibility of school delays in Arlington, as the weather forecast for Wednesday morning continues to look bad.
A winter weather advisory has been issued from 3 a.m. until 10 a.m. as an approaching cold front looks to send some ice our way, just in time for the morning commute.
Tuesday will be fairly nice, with a cold morning giving way to some decent highs in the 40s. However, things take a turn for the worse late in the evening as temperatures plunge into the 20s to 30s, and sleet and snow develop between 4 and 7 a.m., particularly to the north and west of D.C. according to the Washington Post's Capital Weather Gang.

With temperatures around freezing, that precipitation is likely to stick to the roads in the form of ice, which could make driving treacherous.
That doesn't necessarily mean schools in the area will be delayed, but several school districts in the area postponed school because of icy conditions on Monday, so we could see a repeat of that.

The snow and sleet will transition to rain sometime between around 7 and 10 a.m. The rain should taper off sometime Wednesday evening, and things should clear up for the rest of the week.
