Armed Carjacking Suspects Arrested After Chase From Arlington Into DC
Arlington County Police arrested two juveniles in connection with a Saturday carjacking in the Aurora Highlands neighborhood, police said.
ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington County Police arrested two juveniles in connection with a Saturday night carjacking in the Aurora Highlands neighborhood, police said Sunday.
Shortly before 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, police were dispatched to the 2800 block of Fort Scott Drive in Arlington for the report of an armed carjacking.
When they arrived, police learned that the male victim was sitting inside a parked vehicle when the two juvenile suspects approached, brandished firearms, and demanded the victim get out of his vehicle. The two suspects then fled the scene in the stolen vehicle, police said.

An Arlington Police officer saw the suspects traveling northbound on Interstate 395 and attempted a traffic stop. After the driver refused to stop, police chased after the carjackers.

The suspects crashed the vehicle in the area of 14th Street SW and D Street SW, near the Jefferson Memorial and the Tidal Basin, ARLnow reported. They ran from the vehicle, and officers chase after them and eventually took both suspects into custody.
The two juvenile suspects were transported to an area hospital as a precautionary measure. However, no injuries were reported, police said.
During a search of the stolen vehicle, police said officers recovered a firearm that had been reported stolen in Prince George’s County, Maryland.
The two 17-year-olds are being held in D.C.’s jail, pending extradition to Virginia, according to police.
The Metropolitan Police Department and D.C. Fire and EMS provided assistance at the scene of the incident in D.C.
