Assault & Battery Charge Levied Against Arlington Man: Police
Arlington County Police arrested a man they say entered a residential building and tried to hit a maintenance worker.
ARLINGTON, VA — A 38-year-old Arlington man is facing multiple charges, including assault and battery, after he was found in a vacant residential building by a maintenance man on Tuesday morning, according to Arlington County Police.
Officers were dispatched around 7:38 a.m. for the report of a burglaryin the 300 block of N. Glebe Road in the Buckingham area. Following a brief investigation, police determined that a man entering a residential unit to perform maintenance encountered another man inside the unit.
After the maintenance worker confronted the man, the intruder exited the building, according to police. Once outside, the other man tried to hit the maintenance worker but then left the area on foot. No injuries were reported.

After broadcasting a lookout, the officers who responded to the dispatch located a man matching the description of the suspect near N. Glebe Road and N. Quincy Street, according to the police report.
ACPD arrested Garland Mines of Arlington, charged him with unlawful entry, as well as assault and battery. He was then held him without bond, according to police.
