DC Woman Grabs Officer At Pentagon City Metro Station: Police
A D.C. woman was arrested on Friday after she grabbed a police officer who had stopped a man for fare evasion at the Pentagon City Metro.

ARLINGTON, VA — A D.C. woman is facing multiple charges after she grabbed a police officer while he was stopping someone for fare evasion in the Pentagon City Metro Station on Friday, according to Arlington County Police.
An officer on patrol at the station spotted a male subject trying to evade paying his fare around 4:40 p.m., when a woman who knew the suspected fare-dodger grabbed the officer, according to the incident report.
The woman then began walking away, but the officer issued commands, to which she did not respond. With the help of other officers who'd arrived on the scene, 42-year-old Muronji Inman-Mccraw of Washington, D.C., was arrested and charged with assault on police and obstruction of justice. The man was released at the scene, according to ACPD.

Inman-Mccraw was arraigned on Monday afternoon in Arlington County District Court and has a preliminary hearing set for Aug. 7, according to court records. She was released on bail.
The obstruction of justice charge is considered a Class 1 misdemeanor, which carries a penalty of up to 12 months in jail and/or a fine of up to $2,500, according to the Code of Virginia.

The more serious charge is the assault on a police officer, which is a Class 6 felony. Under Virginia law, Inman-Mccraw faces a possible sentence of 1-5 years in prison or, at the court's discretion, up to 12 months in jail and/or a fine of up to $2,500.
