Assault On Police Charges Filed Against Arlington Woman: Report
While investigating a public intoxication report, two officers were assaulted by the suspect, according to Arlington County Police.
ARLINGTON, VA — A 19-year-old Arlington woman faces multiple charges, including assault on a police officer, in connection to an incident that occurred in the Arlington Mill area on Friday night, according to Arlington County Police.
Police responded around 7:16 p.m. to the 800 block of South Arlington Mill Drive for the report of public intoxication. Officers found a woman, later identified as Angelita Lopez, who was exhibiting signs that she was under the influence, according to a police report.
Lopez was detained after she failed to follow police instructions and kicked one of the officers, according to police.

Emergency medical personnel took Lopez to a nearby hospital to be evaluated. On the way to the hospital, police said she assaulted another officer. There were no reported injuries suffered by the officers.
Lopez was arrested and charged with public intoxication and two counts of assault on police, according to the incident report. She was then held without bond.
