Attack On Employee Inside Ballston Business Results In Felony Charge: ACPD
A New York man who attacked an employee inside the employee-only area of a Ballston business faces a third-degree felony charge, police say.

ARLINGTON, VA — A 20-year-old New York man is facing a malicious bodily injury charge after he assaulted an employee inside the employee-only area of a business in Ballston early Saturday morning, according to authorities.
Police responded around 12:40 a.m. to investigate a report of unknown trouble at a business in the 800 block of North Glebe Road., according to the incident report.

"It was determined an employee was in an employee-only area of the business when the male suspect allegedly entered and assaulted him," according to the report. "The victim sustained serious, non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital."
The officers located the suspect at the scene and took him into custody.

Police arrested and charged 20-year-old Anthony Manno of Valley Stream, New York with malicious bodily injury, according to ACPD.

Manno was arraigned Monday morning in Arlington General District Court and a bond hearing was scheduled for 9 a.m. on Tuesday, according to court records. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. on Feb. 9.
The malicious bodily injury charge is a Class 3 felony. If convicted on this charge, Manno faces a possible sentence of five to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $100,000, under the Code of Virginia.
