Burglar Taps On Arlington Resident's Window With An Axe: Police
A would-be burglar was arrested after startling an Arlington resident, police say.

ARLINGTON, VA -- An Arlington resident was startled by a man trying to gain entry into his home earlier this week -- at one point with an axe, police say.
Police were called to the 4200 block of 16th Street S at around 12:45 a.m. on April 8 to a report of a burglary that had just occurred, according to a report from the Arlington County Police Department.
"[T]he male victim was inside his residence when he heard his screen door open," the report states. "Upon investigating, he observed a male suspect inside the screened-in porch of his residence. The suspect allegedly attempted to open the door leading directly into the residence and then proceeded to knock on the door’s window pane with an axe located on the victim’s property."

Police canvased the area and found a suspect matching the victim's description, arresting 53-year-old Darrell Graham on a charge of burglary, according to the report.
He was held without bond.
