Equality Arlington, a nonprofit group, will be celebrating National Coming Out Day with a Coming Out Party at Busboys and Poets on Oct. 11.

ARLINGTON, VA — Equality Arlington, a new nonprofit group, will be celebrating National Coming Out Day with a Coming Out Party at Busboys and Poets in Shirlington on Oct. 11.

The event will feature state Sen. Adam Ebbin as the featured speaker, coming out stories from Arlingtonians, a raffle, and updates on Equality Arlington’s advocacy work. Ebbin, who was first elected to the House of Delegates in 2003, was the first openly gay member of the Virginia General Assembly.

“On National Coming Out Day, we celebrate the courage of LGBTQ+ individuals to live as their true selves in a world that often encourages us to hide who we are,” said Kellen MacBeth, president of Equality Arlington.
