Crystal City Bridge Being Demolished (Photos)
Final demolition is underway for a bridge in Crystal City.

ARLINGTON, VA -- Say goodbye to a bridge that crosses over 18th Street S in Crystal City -- crews are in the process of demolishing it this week.
Demolition of the Clark Street structure started on Monday and the work will continue for as long as three weeks.
The work will mean road closures in the area, so note the following (subject to change):

- Eastbound 18th Street closed (south side of street): Monday through Wednesday, June 10 to June 12
- Westbound 18th Street closed (north side of street): Thursday through Wednesday, June 13 to June 19
- Eastbound 18th Street closed (south side of street): Thursday through Friday, June 20 to June 21
The demolition work will take place from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. on weekdays. Crews will use heavy equipment and jackhammers to remove concrete and steel, so it will be noisy. No explosives will be used.
