Defense Contractor Technomics Opts To Keep Headquarters In Arlington
Defense contractor Technomics Inc. will be leasing an additional 10,000 square feet of space in Crystal City instead of moving out of state.

ARLINGTON, VA — Defense contractor Technomics Inc. will be leasing an additional 10,000 square feet of space in Crystal City, a decision that means the company will be staying in Arlington, state and local officials announced Tuesday.
Virginia competed with Maryland, D.C. and California to keep Technomics headquartered in Arlington. The company also has offices in California and Michigan. The company’s $1.7 million expansion in Crystal City is expected to create 150 new jobs, officials said.
Established in 1984, Technomics, located at 1225 South Clark Street in Arlington, provides the Department of Defense and other clients with weapons system cost analysis.

“We welcome Technomics’ decision to expand its footprint in Arlington and its ongoing contributions to our community’s economy,” Arlington County Board Chair Katie Cristol said in a statement Tuesday. “We believe Arlington’s proximity to the nation’s capital and federal client base, as well as our talented tech workforce and business resources, will be an asset as Technomics continues its success.”
The Virginia Economic Development Partnership worked with Arlington County to provide incentives to keep Technomics in Arlington. One of the incentives, funding from the Virginia Jobs Investment Program, targets companies that will add new jobs in the state.

"Because of its vicinity to many of our clients and employee-owners, Arlington County is the perfect location for our expansion,” Al Leung, president and CEO of Technomics, said in a statement.
“In fact, the need is so high that just as our expansion came to a close, we began to actively pursue an additional 10,000 square feet of space — also in Arlington County — to be dedicated to clients requiring compliance with highly specialized technical requirements," Leung said.
