Fairfax Man Cited On Drug Charges By Arlington Police
A man who was wanted by Fairfax County police was arrested in connection to a robbery by force in Arlington, according to reports.
ARLNGTON, VA — A 36-year-old Fairfax man with multiple outstanding warrants is facing drug-related charges after he was arrested Wednesday night in the Glebewood area, according to Arlington County police.
Officers responded 8 p.m. to the 4700 block of Langston Boulevard for the report of a robbery by force.
"It was determined the male suspect entered the business and asked an employee for cigarettes behind the counter," according to the incident report. "The suspect then allegedly grabbed the cigarettes from the employee’s hand and fled the scene on foot with the merchandise. No injuries were reported."

Searching the area, the officers located a man in the 2100 block of North Glebe Road who matched the description of the suspect, according to the report. The officers arrested the man, who was identified as Abdiqani Hassan of Fairfax.

During the investigation, police recovered suspected narcotics from Hassan and learned that and learned thathe was wanted out of another jurisdiction, according to ACPD.
Hassan was charged with robbery and two counts of possession of Schedule I/II controlled substances, according to police. He was also served with the outstanding warrants and held without bond, according to police.
Hassan was arraigned in Arlington General District Court on Thursday morning and a preliminary hearing was scheduled for 11:30 a.m. on Jan. 12, 2026, according to court documents.
The robbery by force and possession of Schedule I/II controlled substances charges are all Class 5 felonies, which carry a potential penalty of one to 10 years in prison or up to 12 months in jail, along with a fine of up to $2,500, under the Code of Virginia.
Hassan was wanted out of Fairfax County for failing to appear for scheduled court hearings on July 7 and Aug. 19, according to court records.
On Sept. 16, Hassan was found guilty in Arlington General District Court on a misdemeanor drug possession charge in connection to a July 15 arrest, according to court records. He was fined $610 and sentenced to 90 days in jail. He has administrative hearing scheduled for Jan. 6, 2026 and Oct. 6, 2026.
