Firearm Displayed By Would-Be Robber At Ballston Store: Police
Arlington police are looking for a man they say threatened store security with a firearm after they stopped him from stealing merchandise.

ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington County Police are looking for a man with a firearm who they say threatened a security personnel at a Ballston store after he tried to leave without paying for merchandise on Tuesday night.
Officers responded around 11:11 p.m. to the report of an armed robbery at a business in the 600 of N. Glebe Road. They determined that a man had entered the business, gathered merchandise and tried to leave the store without paying, according to ACPD.
After store security personnel recovered the merchandise and escorted the man out of the store, he lifted his shirt, showing what appeared to be the handle of a firearm in his waistband, according to police. He then made some threats and walked away.

The officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect.
Police described the suspect as a white man, approximately 25-30 years old, who stood about 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-10 and weighed around 160-170 pounds, police say. He was wearing a black puffer coat, green hoodie, dark jeans, black gloves, and black sneakers.
