FL Woman Jailed On Multiple Charges After Standoff At Arlington Home

A Florida woman is facing several charges after entering a vacant residence Wednesday night in the Leeway Overlee neighborhood of Arlington.

ARLINGTON, VA — A Florida woman is facing a slew of charges after entering a vacant residence Wednesday night in the Leeway Overlee neighborhood of Arlington, according to the Arlington County Police Department.

Vivian Vann, 52, of Dania Beach, Florida was arrested and charged with burglary, unlawful entry, possession of a fake ID, identity theft, forgery, obtaining money by false pretenses, and grand larceny auto.

Shortly before 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, police were dispatched to the 2300 block of N. Powhatan Street, where they determined Vann had gained entry into the vacant home.

The officers established a perimeter and gave Vann commands to get out of the house. Vann did not comply with the commands and remained inside, police said.

Officers eventually entered the home and took Vann into custody. When they searched her, officers recovered identifications, credit cards and other documents related to fraudulent activity, police said.

In their investigation, police also determined Vann had entered a residence in the 1400 block of S. Quincy Street, ACPD said.

Vann is being held at the Arlington County Detention Facility in connection with crimes in Arlington dating back to Sept. 18, ARLnow reported Thursday.
