ARLINGTON, VA — The Washington Nationals traded outfielder Juan Soto to the San Diego Padres last August after the team could not reach an agreement on a contract extension with the young superstar outfielder.

Six months after leaving the D.C. area for Southern California, Soto has now put his home in Arlington up for sale. The home, on Williamsburg Boulevard in the Rock Spring neighborhood, is listed for $1,025,000.

“Now ensconced in Southern California — with a $23 million contract for the 2023 season — the young outfielder is cutting the last of his ties to the nation’s capital,” Realtor.com reported.

The home’s listing says the residence, which was built in 1950, is “lightly lived in.” Luxury appliances and countertops were added to the kitchen, and the home features gas lamps, a neutral color scheme, and remote-controlled blinds, according to Realtor.com.

The home was originally listed for $1,095,000 on Feb. 1. On Sunday, the price was reduced to $1,025,000, according to Realtor.com.

According to Arlington real estate records, the home was purchased in October 2021 for $1 million by a limited liability corporation called "4793 WILLIAMSBURG LLC."

While he was with the Nationals over parts of five seasons, Soto, 24, played a big role in the Nationals winning the World Series in 2019. For the 2023 season, Soto and the Padres agreed to a $23 million contract.

Soto is set to become a free agent after the 2024 season and, depending on how he plays over the next two seasons, could command a long-term contract valued at more than $500 million.
