ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington Public Library is seeking donations from the public for its inaugural Holiday Gift Nook event.
All seven library branches in Arlington are accepting small giftable items, like pottery or jewelry, in excellent condition. The public can drop off the gift items at the brown Gift Nook donation boxes located near the entrances to each library branch.
The library is accepting items smaller than a breadbox. No food items will be accepted as part of the Holiday Gift Nook event. The deadline for the public to drop off donations is Oct. 20.

Described as “an economical and sustainable approach to holiday shopping,” the Holiday Gift Shopping Party is open to all and free for all.
The public will pick up a coupon before entering the shop and exchange it for one item. Items will be limited to one per person per visit while supplies and inventory last.
The library plans to limit the number of people in the Gift Nook at one time, so there could be lines to get into the Quincy Room at Central Library during each day of the event. The library will also have a gift-wrapping station at Central Library.
Shopping hours for community partners at the Holiday Gift Nook will be Saturday, Dec. 10 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and Sunday, Dec. 11 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Shopping hours for the public will be Saturday, Dec. 10 from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 11 from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
