Light Up The Village At Shirlington To Brighten Holiday Season

The Village at Shirlington will hold its annual tree-lighting celebration on Thursday, Dec. 1, leading to road closures in the area.

ARLINGTON, VA — The Village at Shirlington will hold its annual tree-lighting celebration on Thursday, Dec. 1, leading to road closures in the area.

The Light Up the Village at Shirlington event will run from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., with the tree lighting scheduled for 6:30 p.m. The family-friendly event will also include selfies with Santa, horse-drawn carriage rides, a holiday performance from Signature Theatre and a Maker's Market.

Starting at noon on Dec. 1, the Arlington County Police Department will close Campbell Avenue from Harris Teeter to S. Randolph Street. Beginning at 4 p.m., Campbell Avenue, from S. Arlington Mill Drive to S. Quincy Street, and S. Randolph Street, from S. Arlington Mill Drive to the alley behind the businesses on the south side of Campbell Avenue, will be closed.

Vehicles will not be allowed to enter or exit the Harris Teeter parking garage on Campbell Avenue after 4 p.m. Customers will be able to access the garage using the entrance behind the store.
