ARLINGTON, VA -- A warrant has been issued after an alarming incident in an Arlington neighborhood early Monday morning.

The victims were inside their home in the 1300 block of S. Taylor Street at around 1:32 a.m. on June 3 when they were "awoken by a loud crash," according to a report from the Arlington County Police Department.

"They located the known suspect, who had used an object to shatter multiple window panes and attempt to enter the residence," the report states. "The suspect verbally threatened the victims. A physical confrontation ensued between one victim and the suspect, preventing him from entering the residence and prompting him to flee prior to police arrival."

One victim had minor injuries that did not require medical treatment.

Officers searched the area but could not find the suspect. They have issued a warrant for burglary with intent to commit assault and battery.
