Military Helicopter Makes Emergency Landing at Yorktown High School
Helicopter with mechanical issue landed on the Arlington high school's football field Friday night. No injuries or damage, says police.

ARLINGTON, VA — A military helicopter caused a stir for Arlington residents Friday night when it made an emergency landing at Yorktown High School.
Pilots of the UH-1N Huey sought a safe spot to land after reporting a mechanical warning light, according to officials at Joint Base Andrews. The helicopter landed in the middle of the high school's football field at approximately 7:39 p.m.
There were no injuries reported and no damage to the school or the helicopter, according to Arlington Police.

A maintenance crew was called to make necessary repairs and arrived soon after 10 p.m. Meanwhile, local residents were able to get an look at the helicopter.
The helicopter returned to base at approximately 12:20 a.m.
