Officer Assaulted While Trying To Make Arrest In Arlington: Cops
Police have arrested three juvenile suspects after they say one of them assaulted an officer.

ARLINGTON, VA -- An Arlington police officer was assaulted while trying to make an arrest on one of three juvenile suspects on Wednesday, police say.
Police were approached by a victim in the 1300 block of N. Vermont Street at around 1 p.m. who said he met with three suspects, who he knew, in a nearby park, according to a report from the Arlington County Police Department.
"Upon meeting, the suspects assaulted the victim and stole his personal belongings, resulting in serious, but non life-threatening injuries that required medical treatment," the report states. "The victim left the park and sought assistance from an officer he located nearby."

Police found two of the suspects in the area, arresting the first without incident, but the second suspect "disobeyed lawful commands and actively resisted, yelling verbal profanities and striking the officer, causing injury that required medical treatment," the report states.
A third suspect was later arrested without incident by members of the Tactical Unit.

"Petitions for Robbery by Force and Assault or Battery by Mob were sought for the first and third juvenile suspects. Petitions for Robbery by Force, Assault or Battery by Mob, Assault & Battery on Law Enforcement and Possession of Marijuana were sought for the second juvenile suspect," the report states.
