ARLINGTON, VA -- A Maryland woman faces charges of assaulting an officer after police say she refused to get out of a car parked along Interstate 395 in Arlington Tuesday night.
An officer was on routine patrol on southbound I-395 near Washington Boulevard at around 10:45 p.m. on June 18 when he spotted an "improperly stopped vehicle on the highway" and conducted a traffic stop, according to a report from the Arlington County Police Department.
"Upon making contact with the occupants of the vehicle, the officer observed the three occupants engaged in a verbal dispute," the report states. "The officer instructed the occupants to cease their dispute and show their hands. The driver and one passenger complied, however, the third continued to yell, threatening another occupant, and disobeyed multiple lawful commands from the officer to comply."
