Overdose Victim In Arlington Co. Courthouse Lobby Saved By Deputies
Sheriff's deputies "saved a man's life" on Wednesday after seeing him lying on the floor of the lobby at the Arlington County courthouse.

ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington County sheriff’s deputies "saved a man’s life" on Wednesday after seeing him lying on the floor of the lobby at the Arlington County courthouse, according to the sheriff’s office.
The man on the floor was showing symptoms of a drug overdose. One of the sheriff’s deputies — Corporal Gan — quickly administered Narcan, or nasal naloxone, to the man. Corporal Garrison, the other deputy, alerted emergency services, who took the man to the hospital, the sheriff’s office said.
Arlington County sheriff's deputies and other first responders in the county carry nasal naloxone for situations where people suffering an overdose from prescription painkillers or heroin. The medication helps to reverse an overdose from these drugs.
