Reckless Bicyclist Kicks Officer, Police Cruiser: ACPD
Arlington County police arrested a man they say kicked an officer and police cruiser after he tried to evade authorities.
ARLINGTON, VA — A man who was biking recklessly in the Pentagon City area on Sunday night is facing an assault on police charge, according to authorities.
Officers responded around 6:05 p.m. to the 1200 block of South Hayes Street for a disorderly conduct report.
"An officer observed the male suspect biking recklessly in the area and detained him," according to the incident report. "During the course of the investigation, the suspect attempted to flee from officers on foot, kicked an officer and a parked police cruiser, resulting in minor damage. No injuries were reported."

Police arrested and charged 25-year-old Gerbree Roberson of an undetermined address with assault on police, destruction of property, obstruction of justice and public intoxication, according to the report.

Roberson was arraigned on Monday morning in Arlington General District Court and a preliminary hearing was scheduled for 11:30 a.m. on Dec. 4, according to court records.
The obstruction of property of less than $1,000 with intent and assault on a law enforcement officer are Class 6 felonie. If convicted on either charge, Roberson faces a possible sentence of one to five years in prison, or at the discretion of the judge or jury trying the case, up to 12 months in jail and/or a $2,500 fine, under the Virginia Code. The other two charges are misdemeanors.
