Robber Springs From The Bushes In Pentagon City: Police
Police arrested a man on attempted robbery charges after a scary incident in Pentagon City, police say.

ARLINGTON, VA -- A man is under arrest after police say he "emerged from the bushes" in Pentagon City armed with a knife as someone walked by.
Police were called to the 1600 block of S. Joyce Street on May 16 to a report of an attempted armed robbery, according to a report from the Arlington County Police Department.
"[T]he victim was walking in the area, when an unknown suspect emerged from the bushes and approached him from behind," the report states. "The suspect allegedly brandished a knife and attempted to grab the victim’s backpack. The victim yelled and was able to pull away from the suspect, who fled prior to police arrival. The victim was not injured and nothing was reported stolen."

An officer on routine patrol was flagged down for assistance by someone who matched the description of the suspect, and police arrested 30-year-old Obaid Sabori of Alexandria on a charge of attempted robbery.
