Sexual Assault Suspect Arrested Near Crystal City Metro: Police
Police arrested a man who they say cornered a woman in a business on Crystal Drive over the weekend.

ARLINGTON, VA -- A man faces attempted rape, theft, and fraud charges after police say he tried to rape a woman inside a business on Crystal Drive.
Police were called to the 1700 block of Crystal Drive at around 7:42 p.m. on July 13 to a report of an assault, and found that a woman was inside a business there when "an unknown male suspect entered, cornered her and made inappropriate sexual comments," according to a report from the Arlington County Police Department.
"The victim yelled at the suspect and forcefully pushed him away, prompting him to flee the scene on foot prior to police arrival," the report states.

Police say they later found the victim's credit cards had been stolen during the incident and used in multiple locations, and police were able to develop a suspect description.
Officers on patrol near the Crystal City Metro the next day saw someone matching his description and took him into custody without incident, the report states.

Yohannes Gebreyesus, 36, of Arlington faces charges of attempted rape, credit card theft (two counts), and credit card fraud, as well as a felony probation violation, the report adds.
He is being held without bond.
