Shoplifters Turn Violent, Burglars Strike: ACPD Crime Report
Here are the crimes reported by Arlington police on the weekend of Oct. 19-20.

ARLINGTON, VA — Multiple burglars broke into residences and businesses around the county. Some shoplifters turned violent when confronted by an employee, police say. These are a few of the crimes reported in Arlington over the weekend by Arlington County Police.

UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 2019-10170247, 1000 block of N.
Filmore Street. At approximately 8:50 p.m. on October 17, police were
dispatched to the report of a breaking and entering just occurred. Upon
arrival, it was determined that the victim received an alert of motion
inside of her residence on her phone and subsequently observed via a
camera that an unknown male subject had gained entry to the residence.
The suspect fled prior to police arrival. Nothing was reported stolen
from the residence. The suspect is described as a medium build Middle
Eastern or Hispanic male, wearing camouflage pants and a long sleeve
shirt. The investigation is ongoing.
BURGLARY, 2019-10180068, 200 block of N. Piedmont
Street. At approximately 9:21 a.m. on October 18, police were dispatched
to the report of a burglary. Upon arrival, it was determined that
between 5:00 p.m. on October 17 and 8:05 a.m. on October 18, an unknown
suspect(s) forced entry to the laundry room of a residential building,
causing damage, and damaged electronic equipment inside. There is no
suspect description(s). Nothing was reported stolen. The investigation
is ongoing.

BURGLARY, 2019-10180171, 1900 block of N. Culpeper
Street. At approximately 2:35 p.m. on October 18, police were dispatched
to the report of a burglary. Upon arrival, it was determined that
between 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. on October 18, an unknown suspect(s)
gained entry to a residence, tampered with items and stole an
undisclosed amount of cash. There is no suspect(s) description. The
investigation is ongoing.
ROBBERY, 2019-10180181, 1500 block of Wilson
Boulevard. At approximately 3:14 p.m. on October 18, police were
dispatched to the report of a larceny in progress. Upon arrival, it was
determined that the male and female suspect entered a business and
allegedly began selecting and concealing merchandise. The suspects then
proceed to exit the business without paying, however, an employee
confronted them. A brief struggle ensued between the employee and male
suspect, while the female suspect exited the business with some of the
merchandise.The employee disengaged from the struggle after the male
suspect then threatened to pepper spray him. The male suspect then fled
the business prior to police arrival. A lookout was broadcast and an
officer in the area observed the suspects entering the metro. Officers
made contact with the female suspect, however, the male suspect was able
to flee on a train leaving the station. Warrants for Robbery and
Attempted Assault with a Caustic Substance were issued for the female
suspect. The investigation is ongoing.
BURGLARY, 2019-10190136, 1900 block of N. Quincy
Street. At approximately 2:24 p.m. on October 19, police were dispatched
to the late report of a burglary. Upon arrival, it was determined that
between approximately 2:08 a.m. and 7:37 a.m. on October 19, an unknown
suspect(s) forced entry to a residence, causing damage, tampered with
items inside the residence and stole the victims credit cards and an
undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect(s) also unlocked two vehicles
belonging to the victim and rummaged through them, however, nothing was
reported stolen from either vehicle. There is no suspect(s) description.
The investigation is ongoing.
BURGLARY, 2019-10200201, 5500 block of Columbia
Pike. At approximately 8:00 p.m. on October 20, police were dispatched
to the report of a burglary just discovered. Upon arrival, it was
determined that between October 1 and October 20, an unknown suspect(s)
gained entry to a residence, tampered with items, left trash behind and
stole items of value. There is no suspect(s) description. The
investigation is ongoing.
