Shots Fired Into Arlington Home: Police

An Arlington resident heard a "loud noise" and found bullet holes in his home shortly after midnight on New Year's Day.

ARLINGTON, VA -- Police are investigating after an Arlington resident heard a loud noise and then found bullet holes in his home shortly after the clock struck midnight on New Year's Eve.

Police were called to the 2400 block of S. Lowell Street in the Nauck neighborhood at around 5:02 p.m. on Jan. 2 to a report of "suspicious circumstances," according to a report from the Arlington County Police Department.

Police later determined that at around 12:15 a.m. on Jan. 1, the resident heard a "loud noise and later located a hole through the window and in an interior wall of his home," the report states. The resident found a bullet in the wall, police say.

Police have not identified a suspect, and the investigation is ongoing.
