Skipping Metro Fare Leads To 3 Assault On Police Charges: ACPD
A 45-year-old Arlington man suspected of not paying Metro fare resisted arrest and assaulted three officers, according to police.

ARLINGTON, VA — A 45-year-old Arlington man is facing three charges of assault on police after he was stopped for not paying his fare at the Pentagon City Metro Station, according to Arlington County Police.
An officer working the crime prevention detail at the station stopped Vince Trice under suspicion of not paying his fare. When the officer tried to detain him, Trice started to act disorderly and the officer noticed that he had a knife in his waistband, according to police.
When the suspect refused to follow commands and resisted arrest, the officer took him into custody with the help of other officers. During the arrest, Trice kicked and spat on three officers, according to police. The officers also recovered a knife and suspected narcotics. No injuries were reported.

ACPD charged Trice with resisting arrest, fare evasion, two counts of possession of a Schedule I/II Controlled Substance and three counts of assault on police, according to authorities.
