ARLINGTON, VA -- Two people are facing charges after police in Arlington were notified of a stolen vehicle entering a parking garage, police say.

Police were notified of a License Plate Reader hit on a reported stolen vehicle entering a parking garage in the 800 block of Army Navy Drive at around 7:10 p.m. on March 30, according to a report from the Arlington County Police Department.

"Upon arrival, officers located the parked vehicle with a female occupant in the passenger seat," the report states. "The passenger exited the vehicle, disregarded all lawful commands by officers and attempted to flee the scene on foot. Following a brief foot pursuit, the passenger was taken into police custody. The driver was taken into custody when he returned to the vehicle and a controlled substance was allegedly located on his person."

Police charged 19-year-old Miranda Costello of Gaithersburg, Md., with felony possession of stolen property, and 24-year-old Patrick Chambers of District Heights, Md., was charged with felony possession with intent to distribute marijuana.
