Suspect Gropes Woman On Arlington Walking Trail, Police Say

Police are searching for a man accused of inappropriately touching a woman running on a popular Arlington trail.

ARLINGTON, VA — Police are looking for a man accused of inappropriately touching a runner on a popular Arlington trail.

The victim told police she was running along the Mount Vernon Trail Sept. 13 when a man came up from behind her and groped her. The incident occurred at the intersection of Lynn Street at Lee Highway, police said.

The woman called for help, which prompted the man to flee the area.

Police describe the suspect as a light-skinned Hispanic male, between the age of 30-40 years old and weighs 180 to 220 pounds with an average medium build. He was clean shaven with short black hair and last seen wearing a light blue, long-sleeved shirt with khaki pants and brown shoes.

About a month ago, a Falls Church man was arrested for allegedly assaulting and exposing himself to two women walking on the Custis Trail. Police say Marvin Sosa Velasquez, 22, is accused of assaulting both women on the trail.
