“Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash,” police said.
ARLnow reported Friday that the intersection was closed for nearly five hours after the crash, so police could conduct an investigation. Along with the one fatality, several people were injured in the crash, according to the ARLnow report.
Arlington County Police said they are withholding the name of the teen who died in the crash in accordance with Virginia law, which limits law enforcement agencies from directly or indirectly identifying juvenile victims who die as a result of a crime.
