ARLINGTON COUNTY, VA — A man and a teen were shot during a confrontation Saturday night at a residential building in the Aurora Highlands neighborhood, according to Arlington County police.

Law enforcement responded around 9 p.m. to the 1600 block of South Eads Street and found both victims suffering from their injuries, police said. They were taken to hospitals and the teen was in critical but stable condition as of mid-day Sunday while the man’s injuries were not life-threatening, according to police.

The shooting occurred when a verbal dispute between a male and a group of people in the hallway of the building escalated, with the male brandishing and firing a gun, hitting the victims and fleeing before police arrived, authorities said, adding a search for the gunman was unsuccessful.
